Everything in Labguru is connected, this article shows how storages are directly linked to inventory samples and aliquots.

Labguru helps you define the physical storage locations of all materials in your lab:

from rooms, shelves, freezers, closets, through racks of boxes and down to a single tube.

After mapping the lab's storage locations, you can assign a respective locations for each of your stocks such as: consumables, biological samples, chemicals, specimen, etc.

One of the main advantages is the ability to combine knowledge with logistical information while keeping both well-defined and in context. Information on collection items is saved and managed in the Inventory module while the exact position is kept under the Storage module.

Creating new Storage:

1. In the Menu click on the Storage icon and click on Storages.

2. Click on the 'Add new storage' button to add the locations where your stocks will be stored. For example: lab rooms, hallways, equipment room, tissue culture, etc.

3. Enter the necessary information to create the storage location ('Name', 'type', 'temperature', etc.) and click on 'Save'.

4. Create additional storage units within the storage room you created such as: freezers, closets, and liquid N2 tanks. It is recommended to set the shelves, drawers, and racks in each new storage unit. You can also add boxes to racks and storage units.

Mapping your laboratory storage locations will make it easier to find exactly what you are looking for. Even if you haven't been using it for a while - Labguru will keep you on top of everything.
