A great tool to get an overview of all data collected on a specific item

You can now connect your experimental results directly to your inventory items, using the 'Datasets' module. With Datasets users can link the outcome of experiments to the samples (items) from the inventory module, allowing users to view the actual results in the items's page and have the option to compare results of different experiments. Datasets also allow users to perform searches based on the data and group together desired results from different origins to help in big analyses.

So, what exactly is a dataset?

A dataset in Labguru is a set of experimental results on which you can run an analysis and establish a theory. Form elements and data files in the form of Excel or text that are added to experiments pages, can be turned into datasets. Labguru will find within the data file all the items that exist in your inventory and will create a new entry in that item's page with the relevant data from the file.

In the item's page, under the 'Datasets' tab you will see all the places where this item appeared in any data file that was added as a dataset. On the right side of each row there will be a link to the dataset itself. Click here to learn how to connect the data files to item from the inventory.

In the dataset page you'll see a presentation of the data file you have uploaded. The dataset takes the first row as it's headers.

Each row in the dataset is called a vector.

Each cell is called a data-point.

You can also search through all datasets in the account by clicking on one of the data-points. Labguru will find all the locations where this data-point appears and will present it in a new page with all similar points found and their vectors. If the data-point you clicked on is an item in your inventory, you'll be able to go directly to the item's page, by clicking on its name (as shown in the image below).

You can view the list of all your datasets in the 'Datasets' page under the 'Knowledge' tab.
