Labguru allows administrators to create teams and assign team leaders, making it easy to manage access, responsibilities and collaborate across Labguru.
By using teams, you can group people with similar function and grant permissions and access to multiple users at once, saving time and reducing administrative effort.
Creating a Team
- Navigate to Members.
- Select the Teams tab.
- Click Add new team.
- Enter a team name and optional description.
- Select the team members.
- Assign a team leader.
- Save the team.
The team is now available for permission management throughout Labguru.
Assigning Access and Responsibilities to Teams
Whenever a field or dropdown allows you to select a member, you can also select a team. This enables you to grant access, assign functions, and manage responsibilities for multiple users at once.
This example shows a team selected for viewing access in a project:
Team-Based Access Across Labguru
Teams can be used throughout Labguru to manage access, permissions and functions consistently across multiple modules, including:
- ELN, including viewing and editing of Projects, Experiments and Protocols, as well as custom signature flows and comments.
- Inventory collections visibility.
- Boxes and Stocks privacy.
- Requests workflows.
By assigning permissions to teams rather than individual users, administrators can simplify access management, ensure consistent permissions, and reduce ongoing maintenance as team membership changes.
