Reorganize your inventory from the freezer door: find the stocks, pick a new location, and move them in a few taps.
With the Labguru Mobile App, you can move one stock or many to another box or storage location while you're standing at the freezer, shelf or rack. Every move is saved to Labguru right away, so your inventory always shows where each stock really is.
Use it when you're:
- Reorganizing freezers, shelves or racks
- Moving stocks between rooms or storage types, for example from a fridge to a freezer
- Updating a stock's location after you've used it
- Receiving samples from collaborators, or preparing samples to send
1. Find the stocks you want to move
On the home screen, tap Stocks. You'll see all your stocks, each with its ID and full storage path.
To see only the stocks in one place, filter by location:
- Tap Location.
- Scan the storage location's or box's barcode, or tap Choose location and browse to it.
- Select the storage location or box.
You can also search by name, ID or barcode, or combine the location filter with other filters such as Collection.
2. Select the stocks
Tick the checkbox next to each stock you want to move. To select every stock in the list, use the checkbox at the top.
3. Move them to their new location
- Tap Move.
- Scan the barcode of the destination, or tap Choose location and browse to the storage location or box.
- Check the stocks and the destination, then tap Move. The button shows how many stocks you're moving, for example Move 2 stocks.
When the move is done, you'll see each stock that was moved. Tap Done to return to your list.
Note: A box can be set to hold only one type of stock, for example only cell lines. If you try to move other types of stock into it, the app tells you which type the box accepts and doesn't move them.
Build a list of stocks to work on
Need to move stocks that are spread across different searches or locations? Collect them first:
- Select stocks from any search or filter and tap Bookmark.
- Repeat for other searches.
- Open My list to see everything you've bookmarked, then select the stocks and tap Move, or apply any other action.
Control access to stocks by moving them into boxes
Moving a stock into a box does more than update its location. The stock takes on the box's settings, including its storage location and any permissions on the box. So you can control who works with a stock by choosing which box it lives in.
For example, keep sensitive or restricted materials in a box that only certain members or teams can edit. Moving a stock into that box limits who can change it, adding a layer of security and accountability to your inventory.
